For this year's XChange WRLDArts Festival, the XChange team toured Toronto, Canada, with their first stop at St. Andrew's College where they stepped into the music classes of their Canadian high school peers and workshopped their traditional Chinese instruments, wushu martial arts, traditional papercutting, and folk song. During an hour-long lunch assembly, the XChange team held a schoolwide concert showcasing all of their cultural arts. In addition to St. Andrew's students, many teachers, administrators, and parents showed up as well.
The second stop was a full-length concert taking place in D&H Production stage. This concert was open to the general public. Many local government figures came out to show their support, as well as SickKids representatives, for their appreciation of XChange's collaborative fundraising for them.
The WRLDArts Festival 2024 is fundraising toward SickKids.
"The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), affiliated with the University of Toronto is Canada's most research-intensive hospital and the largest centre dedicated to improving children's health in the country."
Our fundraiser, as of December 3rd, 2024, has raised $3,255 in a matter of days, surpassing, over 200%, our original donation goal of $1,500.
A huge thanks to St. Andrew's College, especially our student correspondent Mark Ma, and music director Mr. Dan Horner.
Huge thanks to SickKids representative Jessica and her attendance and kind words.
Huge thanks to Parliament members Charles Sousa and Vincent Ke, as well as Mayor Frank Scarpitti for their voiced support for the 2024 XChange WRLDArts Festival and our intention of local and international positive impact.
Thank you to the D&H Production staff for managing our concert stage and videography.
Thank you to all the media that gave coverage to our event and helped us spread the word.
Finally, thank you to all of our attendees, audiences, and people who kindly donated to SickKids!
